RÉSUMÉ
Introduction. Conclusion.
ABSTRACT
Introduction. The aim of evaluating public health surveillance systems is to ensure that public health problems are monitored effectively and efficiently. The aim of our work was to evaluate the performance of three major indicators in measles surveillance in the Sikasso region from 2021 to 2023. Methodology. We conducted a cross-sectional evaluation study of measles data from 2021 to 2023. WHO references were used to measure the indicators. Results. A total of 257 health professionals took part in the study in 139 health areas in the region's 10 health districts. All districts in the region reported at least one suspected case with sampling. All suspected cases were sampled and sent to the national reference laboratory. The regional average of non-febrile rash rates was above 2 over the three-year period. Acceptability of the measles surveillance system was good according to health professionals in the Sikasso region, with an average score of 94.09 %. The system was rated 85.53 % good, despite a low average (43.33 %) of districts having conducted an investigation from 2021 to 2023. Conclusion. The three major measles surveillance indicators in the Sikasso region achieved their overall performance. However, some districts need to make greater efforts to maintain this desirable level of performance.
